Hi, my name is Shyroze and I design and create jewelry for my business Shyka Jewelry.
I own a dental practice in Ann Arbor, MI where I have resided for over 20 years. I love my profession and take great pride in my skills as a dentist. These skills have made me a ‘natural’ at arts and crafts or perhaps the other way around.
I started making jewelry in 2014 primarily as a stress reliever. I quickly realized that this was not going to be just a part time hobby. Concurrently, my staff at the office and I were participating in a community based fundraiser for American Cancer Society. Naturally, the staff suggested we sell jewelry to help us meet our donation target. This is what led to the creation of my business Shyka Jewelry. This was also the beginning of Shyka Jewelry's commitment of giving 50% of the proceeds to charitable organizations.
SHYKA JEWELRY DONATES 50% OF ALL PROCEEDS TO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS. Currently, we donate to a different organization every quarterly. Organizations that have and will be benefitting from this commitment are- American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event, Partnership Walk, Heifer International, Mahakali Higher Secondary School and Camp Kesem. We look forward to adding more organizations to our list.
The inspiration for my designs is simple. Everything I make is something I would love to wear myself. If I don’t like it or if it is not pleasing to my eyes, I wont make. Secondly, I want my customers to feel good when they are wearing my jewelry. The jewelry should not be something to just fill up ‘space’ rather it should make you feel good about yourself.
A friend once told me, if dressing well and looking good makes you feel good than one should always dress well. Life is too short to waste even a moment not feeling great about yourself.
